LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Feidat. May 28. The Legislative Council met at half-past eleven o'clock, pursuant to adjournment; and at ten minutes past twelve o'clock the arrival of his Excellency tlie Governor-General was announced, when the Presi dent and most of the members of Council-proceeded to meet him at the door, and escorted him up the hall to the state chair prepared for him on lite dais above tlie seat of the President. His Excellency, was accompanied by his Aide-de-camp and Private Secretary, and a large number of naval and military officers. On taking the chair he desired the members to be seated, ana the members of the Legislative Assembly were summoned to attend in this chamber. COMMEBCIAIi EEPOET General trade still continues active, and business is very mnch improved, in almost every branch, since our last report. The continuance of fine weather will operate favourably for the arrival of produce from the interior; an average quantity of wool, for the time of the year, has reached here during the past week. The following produce has been forwarded for shipment, viz. :— From Messrs. W. Gray & Co.'s stores— 8 bales wool, TP; 3 do., P with WK over; 10 do., J King ; 5 do., K&M ; 20 do., and 40 sheep skins, 0G with cross between; 30 bales wool, JI. From Messrs. Boyland & Co.'s stores— 16 bales wool, 5 casks tallow, 2 bales skins, AS; 7 bales wool, ipart do., 2 bales skins, Pilton; 8 casks 1 octave tallow, 1 cask do., C. Wheeler. We have no alteration to report in the price of flour, or in any article of leading demand in tho Sydney markets. Wool was firm at last quotations, and tallow showed a slight advance.
