There is at present perhaps r.o mining field on the Southern coast which is at tracting so much attention bb Wolumla. The continuous yiolds from some eight or 10 shows have caneed'it to be noted amongst the high-grade gold ore producers of the colony, . The village of Wolumla has been known for many years as one of the dairying and farming iocalities of the r-ouiuern coast districts, ana judging Dy the closeness of tho mining camp it is marvellous how it is that gold was not discovered before. Wolumla, to get at its exact situation, is about midway be tween Bega and tiTe mining fields of Pam bula and Jingera, the nearest shipping port being Merirabula, about 10 miles ?distant in a south-easterly direction.
