The proceeds of the entertainment were devoted to the Convent funds. Qwin» to the prices being popular ones, the building was crowded to excess, many people, who held front seat tickets having to stand at the back of the hall. The parents of the children rolled up in large numbers, The utmost good humour prevailed amongst the audience, notwith standing the excessive heat, and the noise made by some of those who, at the rear of the bu lding, were shouting, whistliiig, and' stamping their feet almost the whole of the evening. Will of the late W. Strahorn. Ik connection with the will of the late William Strahorn, grazier, late of Mungerie, Bogan River, his widow, Maria Strahorn, and John and Hugh Strahorn, brothers of the deceased, were appointed executrix and -*£ ' executors. The will was proved at £16,785, and provided that the trusstees should hold the property equally for the benefit of bis ' wife during her widowhood and of the chil dren of the deceased.

OUR readers will no doubt be glnd to learn that one of our most popular IochI wool growers, Mr. George Bruce, of Ijoombah, has obtained the exceptional distinction of two awards' for his exhibits of wool in fleece at the Chicago Fxhibii ion. . This is an honour alike for the district, aB well as the squire of Iioombah. So far as our knowledge goe* tnis is cne oniy instance :n wnicn any wool exhibitor obtained two prizes at the Chicago Fair, and we heartily congratulate Mr. Bruce upon the success he has achieved. He has Bpent a life-time in the study of sheepWeed ing and no man more richly deserves the proud position in which he is .placed by the awards as one of the best wool-growers in the colony.
