fining Bfnfrttigrnrc. KIANDltA. The news from the mines, owing to the bad j weather, is of a very meagre nature. The parties ! below the Lower Falls have almost all put in their j dams, ami expect to seach the golden deposits : next week. The only parties that have been j working seem to have been the deep sinkers on I the New Chum Hill, who have not vet reached | the bottom. The ground-sluicei'S seem going on ! as usual. i There is another party gone out to the back of New Chum Hill in search of the reef said to be i found there ; we hope they may meet with fur- J cess. The tunnelling party on the Surfacc Hill! are run out of funds, and arc endeavouring to induce the storekeepers to subscribe to enable them to proceed. On Jackass Flat, Shadforth's claim produced nearly 30 ounces for four men in three davn ; not so bad for a iong-despised piece of ground. On the other side of the Flat a party are ■-■jig.iged j sluicing all before them, and though the ground j has been worked over on...

California. The Gou> Mixes op Arizona.—Week oftcr week bears witneturto the inconceivable mineral I wealth of ijii? great west. Scarcely hast the j world ceawd to be astonished at the vast (silver resources of Western I'tali, before wo ure :i(rnin apprised that copper cxi.-ts in almost, illimitable quantities of unsurpassed purity near Crescent City. Again, the riches of Hold Hill, in fil Dorado county, ntnl other new discoverus in the neighbourhood, lead to the belief that we have only commenced to learn the mineral resources of California. Now we arc culled upon to chronicle the existence of deposits of gold in Arizona, which arc i>uid to exceed anything of the kind ever yet discovered in this State. It is altogether probable that the facts have been over rated ; but should actual experience corroborate the intelligence received, we can scarcely conceive a greater prospective benefit to this country than will result from the existence of great mineral wealth in Arizona.
