COMIC OPERA. "The Dowager." [Newspaper Article] — Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser — 18 April 1895

COMIC OPER&. 'The Dowager.' An amateur company of Nar&ndera essayed op Easter Monday night to play at the Public Hall a one act comio operetta, entitled ?' The Dowager.' The performers were gratified to the extent of a- very full front seat audience who certainly gave them much encouragement and overlooked insur mountable, shortcomings, which, are insepar able on a first night, but the same cannot be said for the occupants of the back portion of the IuniserOB their conduct was insufferable, annoying and irritating to the audience, and most reprehensible towards the performers. On any future occasion it would be well for tbe management to secure the attendance of tbe police and cause the arrest of one or two offenders who could be made an example of. Probably action like this, would: have: good effeot. The pieoe. which had one scene, a i drawing room, was very prettily mounted, the decoration and grouping of the furniture making it a very picturesque one indeed, i The...

'?IMITATION . is the . SIKCKREST Vr.ATTfiUT.' Th° articles most, imitated are CI.BMKNTS TOKIC and yLETCHEB'S PILLS. WHY? BECAUSE they harfe the best reputation and are most in demand by the public, con sequently, every dishonest trader tries to trade on their fame and renown. It is really wonderful that the Australian people are sloi/to see the truth «s regards the unscrupulous quacks and charla'ane who prey on the credj'ity of the Australian public. THE BERRIGAN RAILWAY. [Newspaper Article] — Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser — 23 April 1895

THE BERRIGAN RAILWAY. JUUioash the Jerilderie-Bavrigan railway will probably be constracted, it is pretty certain that the proposal will be debated pretty thoroughly when the Bill comes on for its second reading.. There are a good many ix-ints of view from which it may be looked at. The first is that which takes into consideration the require ments ef the- locality that will be served, a ready concession being per missible that the productiveness of the district is such as to warrant railway facilities being extended to it. But there are ?what may bB called outside circumstances surrounding the project that afford a reason why it should be carefully examined before the final steps are taken. One of these is the consideration tJiat effects all New South Wales railways, the terminal point of which is close to the Victorian border and /far removed from the city of Sydney. - Fifteen years ago the Hay district waa uu councctud by railway with a capital, ?liny is situated 454 miles from S...
