W O W A I Spring wheat is almost exclusively yaiied in this Stato, where it should be divided with winter wheat. It has been claimed that winter wheat will not do well in this State, but we hap- pen to know tbat such is not the case, and it is a profitable crop, even on our prairie land, and as sure as tho spring OTOp. Our prairio winter wheat should be sowed in com fields, plowed in, and the corn stocks should bo left on tho ground to protect the tender grain dur- ing winter. It is very important, that tho wheat should be sowed early, so that it will obtain a good root, before cold weather seta in. Muoh caro should be observed when the coin ears aro being harvested, that the oorn stooks are uot tramped down, as these stooks arc necessary to protect the wheat, from the inclemency of the weather in tho winter. Lewis Harrington, of Hutchinson, never failed of raising a good crop o! winter wheat, on his prairie farm. Abel Wilson, of Richfield, raised on his prairie farm in New Auburn, ...
