Bacon is authorized to transact the business of this office during my absence. 0. L'. Minor. Sad Accident. On Sunday last, a boy named Wm. LeRoy, seven years of age, was killed by the falling of a box containing material for this office. The following is the testimony taken, together with the verdict rendered by a jury summoned by H. E. Lindsey, Coroner of Yuma County : Juan Mendoza, sworn : Deceased was named William LeRoj ; aged seven years; was born in Yuma, A. T. Francisco Bernal, sworn : I took the box from off the body of deceased : the corner of the box struck the deceased be hind the ear ; he was dead when the box was lifted from off him; I did not see the box fall ; I think it was about 3 P. I last wrote you from Fort Mo have, where, thanks to, the offi cersof that posl, I spent several pleasant days. We left thereon the 24th ult., in an ambulance, in company with cant. Ji.agan ana the young lady before men tioned, who were on their way to Prescott. 1 left the party at BEAXiE'S springs, 40 miles from Mohave, where " met Cant. McKey, who arrived from San Carlos on Tues day, that on the 17th inst, Capt. Pedro reported to Lieut. Bice that a notorious Apa3he named Eskoolgo, who brutally murdered Mr. Bedman, sutler at Camp Apache over two yeais ago, was at an Indian eamp near the agen cy. Upon receiving the informa tion Lieut. Bice, with Geo. H. Stevens acting agent, Murchal Gailegos the interpreter, John M. Logan, late hospital steward at Camp Apache,and private George Bussel, started to arrest him. Ou arriving at the Gamp the Apa che was found lying down and was requested to get up and go with the Lieutenant to the agency when he arose, drew his knife and stabbed Logan in several places, from the effects of which he died in about three hours, and slightly wounded Bussell.
