There have been three different sets of men here in that many weeks, all of them were surveyors. , Que set is said to -have been the Rock Island gang, the other the Southern Pacific and the present bunch are said to represent the Phelps-Dodge interests. -The Phelps-Dodge people own the El Paso south western railroad which they built so. ae tew years ago in order to haul the products of their Copper Queen and other copper mines. The charges made by the Southern Pacific before their road was built were prohibitive and these gentlemen were unable to get concessions from the com pany and the only thing left for them to do was to build the road.
