The Senate receded from their amendment# to House bills concerning the Officers of the Supreme Court of Appeals and the District Courts, and concerning the Supreme Court of A|>jM' a ) B and the District Courts. A joint resolution was passed suspending an act passed May 7th, 1852, amending the charler of the city of Alexandria until the people of said city shall, by vote, adopt said act. The House bill authorising the Board of Public Works to deliver to Jainea S. French the engine used on the experimental railway, was rejected for want of a constitutional majority in its favor. Soon after 12 o'clock, the Delegate* to th«t Convention prescuted themselves in force within the building, which had been provided with ampls accommodations for the business of the occasion. The Hall had been fitted up and decorated in the most appropriate manner, under the direction of the Committee of Arrangement*, of which Abel R. Blakeney, Esq., is chairman. The decoration* consist of a large, undulating canopy of striped bunting, with the American flag displayed at each extremity, in beautiful arrangement, the whole reflecting much credit on the professional tact and taste of Messrs. Gibbs & Smith, who had it in charge.
