Marquis, president of the college, was in Austin last week con- ferring with the presidents of other state institutions. Before his return to the college he made a trip to San Antonio to see his son, Bob Marquis Jr, who is teaching in the schools there. While in San Antonio, Dr. Marquis was joined by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stuart and Mrs. Daisy Marquis Briggs. Mrs. Stuart and Mrs. Briggs are sisters of Dr. Marquis. 4 * CLUBS AND SOCIETY Mary Ardens Carry Out Mexican Theme At Monday Meeting Mexican and Spsnish tongs and decoration* carried out the theme of the program at a meeting of the Mary Arden Club held Monday night in the Mary Arden Lodge. The house was decorated with sunflowers, and Mexi- can tapestry, leather, weaving, glass- ware, straw work, and pottery were on display. 1'rmcipal talks were made by Dr. Ruby Smith, director of the foreign language department, who gave an illustrated travelog on Mexico, and by Carrie Lee Lewis, who spoke on Mrs. Kuth Bryan Owens under the topic of "Who's Who Among American Women." Mrs. Owens, who is the daughter of the late William Jen- nings Bryan, will speak at the C. 1. A. Auditorium Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16, at four o'clock.
