The Wheels. [Newspaper Article] — Queensland Figaro and Punch — 15 August 1885

The Wheels. The Wynrium Road Bace is taking tip the atten tion of the cyclists just now, and it is getting a little" exciting, as the time for competing draws to a close. Harris and Cumming did .a fine ran some time ago, (53 minutes from Trimble Bros, to Wynnum Hotel) and it was thought their time wquld win it, but Messrs. Atkinson, Aird, Belbridge, Coutts, Stom and others meant to beat it, if possible, and some close running was the result. As Aird's time on Saturday last was 54 minutes, one minute over the record time; he went again on Monday, and was successful, as he beat the record time by 3 minutes, thus doing the really grand iuri of 50 minutes, for the full dis tance. Stom and Bead also went down on Monday, the time in each case being 62 minutes, but Stom xneans to be in it yet and is going again and then-— JLoji&lc" .lifpyBi 'i? Harris, Cumming and others, will, no doubt, have a hard try to beat Aird's time, and they will have to look smart, as the time for competit...
