CUNGEGONG, COOTAMUNDRA. Elliot and Collins, whilst falling a sapling, a branch of another tree that was lodged in the fork of it fell, and striking the poor fellow on the head killed him on the spot. The second took place on Wednesday after noon. A middle aged man, named Thomas Webster on his way home to Stoney Creek Railway Camp, near Bethungra, from Murrumburrah, had just fed his horses and gone into McGowan's public-house for re freshment, and whilst standing at the bar was taken with a fit, and died shortly afterwards. The suddenness of death was said to be   caused by disease of the heart. Information was sent to the police, but being away at Young it was Friday morning before any in quiry was held. CORONER'S INQUEST.       WILFUL MURDER. On Saturday morning the body of a man was found in the river, having such marks of   violence, as pointed to the conclusion that a dreadful crime had been committed. Planner, having been sworn, stated : I am a cooper residing in Wagga Wagga. I have viewed the body now lying in the dead house, and identify it as that which I found floating in the river this morn- ing, about a quarter of a mile below the wharf. When I saw it, the body was rest- ing agaiust the branches of an oak ; a police- man named Cowle was near at the time, and I pointed out the body. This was about half-past 11 o'clock. I afterwards assisted Constable Keane to get the body out of the water. There were marks of violence upon the head. (By a juror): I was crossing the river in my boat whe...
