COOKBIIT, TO CLARIFY DRIPPING. Put the dripping that you wish to clarify into a saucepan ; pour boiling water over it ; let it boil for twenty minutes with the cover off, that the moisture may be carried away as steam; then pour it all into a basin. The fat, which is lighter than water, will rise to the top. An article in a former issue of the Wellington Times urged upon the people of Cir-   cular Head the desirability of further action being taken with reference to the break- water.' For the last four years the pressure   brought to bear upon the Government, and Parliament by the Marine Board, the Har- bourLeague, and the general public in the   mattor of harbour improvements, has been persistent and continuous. In the early part of the present session the Minister of Lands and Works expressed his intention of pro- posing a vote later on in the session for the full sum estimated as the cost of the break- water. The session is now ended, but the promise has not been redeemed. Of course until the full sum is voted tenders cannot be called for the work.
