HOSPITAL AUXILIARY'S JUBILEE CELEBRATION EFFORT REALISES £60 A Street Stall was con ducted on Saturday, Febru ary 24, in connection with the Jubilee Celebrations and procession, when over £50 was realised. The following competitions were conducted: — Guessing weight of Cake (H lbs.) . Eight p rsons guessed j the correct weight; in the draw the prize went to Mrs. Edmonds, nionds. Bag of Wheat: Won by Mr. Dan Halls. One Dozen Cordials: Aubrey CahiU . Trophy: Mr. Don Bushby. Mystery Pie: This was open ed by Mr. Stan Gorham, of Rye Park, and contained a pair of Nylcn stockings. No one guess ed the contents and in the draw off Mr. J. P. McGratlrs name was first out of the hat. On February 28 a competition was conducted (guessing the number of rolls of paper used in construction of the Hospital Float) when the amount of £10 wa$ raised. 106 rolls had been used; Miss Amy Green's guess of 105 being .the closest, was declared the winner. !

The latter pair started well and soon set up a good lead which Donaldson-Geary were never able to catch up and they eventually won 32/15 on the 21 ends . OBITUARY MR. ROBERT NOLAN. [Newspaper Article] — Boorowa News — 9 March 1951

OBITUARY MR. ROBERT NOLAN. There passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Young, on Sunday, Feb. 11, Mr. Robert Nolan, a well-known Boorowa resident. The late Mr. Nolan, who was familiarly known as "Bob," was born at Crookwell and had reached the age of 74 years. He came to the Boorowa district over 30 years ago and had resided with the Dwyer fam- ily at "Breakfast Creek," on the Cowra Road, for a great period of that time, where he was em- ployed on the station, being a particularly fine lover of horses. About six months ago the late Mr. Nolan's health began to fail and he was admitted to Mt.   St. Joseph's Home, Young. A few days prior to his death he was removed to Hospital where he peacefully passad away. He is survived by two broth- ers—Patrick (Crookwell) and Michael (Bribbaree) and two sis- ters, Mrs. Walters (Mt. Collins) and Mrs. Hewitt (Crookwell). The remains were interred in the Roman Catholic portion of the Young cemetery. Rev. Father Quinn officiating at ...

OBITUARY Miss Elizabeth Dwyer As previously referred to in a recent issue, the death of Miss Elizabeth Dwyer, which occur- red at the Boorowa District Hospital on February 8, remov- ed from our midst one of the most highly respected and well- known residents of Boorowa district. Her illness was only brief, having been admitted to the institution the day previous. Although every possible aid was rendered by the nursing staff she failed to rally and passed peacefully away. The late Miss Dwyer, who was the daughter of the late Mr. Patrick and Elizabeth Dwyer, was born at Boorowa and had resided in the district all her life with the exception of the past four-and a-half years which she had spent with her sister, Mrs. T. A. Cusack, on the Boorowa-Harden road. The deceased lady possessed a kind and genial disposition, a good neighbour, and her many acts of kindness to the sick and those in need were amongst her greatest characteristics, and to those who received her gen- erous help have l...
