'I'he crisis has not developed quite so fast as was exp-oted at tlie close of last week, and our sans culottedtlave kindly afforded us a little breathing time in which to turn round and cora.sder our prospects. Whether, like the " cat i' thie adago," they are letting I dare not wait upon I will, or whether the pause which bhas occurred since tlhe whou eale ' acking" of the Ciavl Service is merely like that which precedes the lion's spring remains to be seen, but certain it is that the revolulion has hung fire a good deal during the last few days, and it is even announced, semi-officially, that there are to be no more dismissals of any importance just at present. It was tt first ldecided to checkmate the Suplaoea Court judges by dismitsing all tihe registrars, and thus leaving no one to carry out the mrnnd'ate of the superior court, and orders were issued to that effect; but other conunsors subsequently prevailed, or else the con...

Pllll8hvlnlD OE, IIVY IATUtIIDA r "I EXOELIlOIlt. SATURtDAY, 19rTs JANUARY. ONe of the most rorious items in the indictment against the Government in connection with their recent rash nod viulent proceedings is that they were taken during an interregnum of Par. liamont, and thnt not even a pretence of consulting that body took place be fore the course decided upon was put into execution. The very fhct serves to show the earimate which Mr Berry hat. formed of the servile condition and mental incapacity of his onn supporters when he deliberately took such import ant steps without even taking them into his confidence, and if they quietly p as over or actively endor.e his con duct it will prove that he has rated them by no means too low. Assum ing for a moment that such admittedly revolutionary acts as theo Government have been guilty of could be justifiable under any circumstances, we should rhink that the least the authors of them could have done would have been to propoundi their sch...
