CORPUS CHRISTI CALLER FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 191$ THE NATURAL GAS PROPOSITION Stated in THK PLAN is to organize a Gas Company to sink one well on the Witherspoon Lease, at: White Point, the company to he incorporated at $20,000. C. L. Witherspoon agrees to take one-half of the stock, the remainder to he distributed between the citizens (if Corpus Christi. Stock is to be subscribed for and payments are to be made subject to a conditional contract with the city to take gas at well. If the city accepts the company's bid, then a con tract is to be let under a competitive bid for sinking the well; and the well is to be awarded the lowest bidder, provided that, if Mr. Witherspoon makes the lowest bid, or a bid equal to the next lowest man, he is to be given the contract. The contract with the city is to provide for the sinking of two wells, with a condition in the contract thata failure to bring in a producing gas well on the first trial will relieve the company of further obligation witho...
