Of the dif ferent form of potaali generally I iu por ted and on the market, Dr. Xlcholi mentions muriate, sulphate and kalnlt, and say : 100 pounds muriate, 80 per cent, glveg 60 pounds potman. 100 pounds sulphate, 50 percent, glrea 2 pounds potash. 100 pound kalnlt gUes 12 pounds potash. The kalnlt Is largely chloride of sodium (common salt) a preponderance which renders It not worth attention aa a source of potash. The sulphate and muriate of potash are largely Imported can be purohased irom the Importers and dealera under a guarantee, and can usually be relied on. The doctor gives what he calls a stock or normal combination of fertilising agents, which lie uses on his farm J the rate of about 600 pounds per acre. It Is constituted as follows : Superphosphate of lime, 40 pounds; sulphate of am monia, 26 pounds; muriate of potash, 26 pounds; sulphate of lime, 7 pounds; sulphate of magnesia, :i pounds.
