FRIDAY, APRIL a), IGIO, NUMBER 23 FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER The Jury Returns a Verdict of "Guilty- in the Cate Against Moore Brothers THE CASE OCCUPIED THE ENTIRE WEEK IN COURT The jury in the case of the Territory versus Moore Bros, in which the defendants were charged with the murder of W. R. Dobbins, returned a verdict of guilty. For the first time in many years in Eddy county a verdict of "guilty" has been rendered in a murder trial and there was no little surprise expressed by the citizens of the town when it became known that the jury in the above entitled cause hud J found the defendants John Moore and brother, Jim Moore, guilty of unlawfully taking the life of their felknvman. ELECTION OF TEACHERS DEFERRED UNTIL AFTER CLOSE OF SCHOOL Pursuant to the regular cus tom with the School Board the members of the new board took their oath of office last Monday, the first Monday in May and en tered upon the duties of their new position. The board which held its first mteting in the office of the sup erintendent last month, met in the high school building and af ter perfecting their organiza tion proceeded with routine mat ters which were to come before them. D. G. Grantham was elected president, D. R. Harkey vice president, and Prof. V. L. Griffin clerk. Over his protest the re maining member of the board, John T. .Rives, was appointed t the position of ex-officio "Business Manager of the Audi torium and Booster.
