MOVING A TOWN. THE AMERICAN WAY. [Newspaper Article] — Nambour Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 2 February 1923

MOVINQ A TOWN. THE AMERICAN WAY. The town of HJbbing has settled down on its new site in the great MesabI iron region of Minnesota. It is estimated to have cost Between 13.000 000 and 18.000.000 dollars to move this town of 15,000 inhabitants off the rich iron ore bed it had grown up-js — a moving bill of something lika 1000 dollars per head of population. Hibbing now stands two miles dis tant from the 40 millions tons of ore it had locked up. The story of the moving of Bib bing is part of the epic of steel. The town being in the way, the Oliver Mining Company, a subsidiary of the United States Steel Corporation, mov;d it, and in the moving spent millions so lavishly that Hibbing Is now des cribed, in the ' 'Christian Science Monitor,' as resembling In the midst of the iron range a jewel dropped on a slag heap. It has a 3.000,000 dollar High School fitted with marble and bronze. It has a 500,000-doUar hotel, expensive clubs,, department stores, public buildings — a model city of rea...

THE MASQUERADERS. [Newspaper Article] — Nambour Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 2 February 1923

THE MASQUERADERS. For six years the world has waited to see the 'Masquerader' In films — just as Richard Walton Tully presented it on the stape, just as Guy Bates Post created the dual roles of John CMIcote M.P.. ami John Loder. Now all these things have happened at once. 'The Masouerader' has come to the scrcea with redoubled force, it Is outstand ing among motion pictures as It was among stage dramas. It grips, and thrills and fascinates in a way few productions on stage of screen have everd one. And. added to that, it Is an artistic, masterpiece. Directed by James Young with a cast of unlrvalled ability to support Mr. Post, 'The Mas querader' will be listed among the Hires finest pictures of the season anil it is doubtful if there will be any to surpass it.
