DEMANDS ... ?' ' OP THE'y AUSTRALIAN SOCIALIST LEAOtll (Adopted Easter, 1898.) ' Workers of all goantrles, Unite.'— MARX. THE' Capitalist form of Society in which we at present exist, am which the Capitalist* uphold, is based upon class supremacy maintained by clans government th-oui;h the private ownership of thi means of prodnfction, distribution, and exchange. This conoiric power, thin possession by the landlord and capHalis clasf of the wholeof the forces of wealth- 1 roduction, puts the workini class in complete cnbjection to the said dominant class, thus deprivini -the great mass of the people of the full product of their labor.^ As the present system ia thus based upon cla is antagonism ani injustice, and as the capitalist class will only permit the wage-ea-ninj class to produce wealth in the form of commodities for sale, paving t- them as wa es but one-third of tbe wealth so produced, and taking foi -themselves the other two-thirds as profits, the aforesaid mode of pro dnoti...

OPEN COLUMN. The Coward's Castle. TO THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — The People and the Collectivist — 17 March 1900

' OPEN COLUMN. The Coward's Castle. TO THE EDITOR. Comrade, —My letter in reply to Comrade Moroney that appears in The People of tbe 10th inst., side by side with Mr. Waldon'a letter, under the above heading, is a suffi cient answer to the first paragraph, which is the only clear one it con tains. The remainder of the epistle ib so incoherent (as its title is stupid) that it is impossible for one of .ordinary faculties to follow its meaning. From this point of view it is impreg nable to assault.' I will be very pleased to debate with Mr. Waldon on the -definition of Wealth and Capital given in his lecture, and will inform you when it is convenient for me to put myself at his disposal. Yours fraternally, 10-3-1900. Chas. Eybi.

The A.S.L. Platform. TO THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — The People and the Collectivist — 17 March 1900

The A.S.L. Platform. TO THE BD1TOB. , Combade, — Just a few lines in reply to Comrade Eyre, as I am sure neither he nor I desire to waste space in a useless controversy. It was unintentional my omission of ' without controversy ' in the quote from his letter. He accuses me of ' tilting at windmills ' because of the ommission of the qualifying portion of the sentence in the par. I criticised. Well, if he was in the habit of attend- . ing Headquarters lectures he would know that discussiens and questions follow no matter who the speaker might be. On the occasion referred to Comrades Morrish (chairman), Rumei sen, ' May Day,' myself and others took parts quite capable I think to do so. It seems superfluous to add to the weekly report ' the usual discus sion followed. Mr. Waldon in his letter complains that I adopted a patronising tone towards him. I didn't intend to. However, let us enjoy ourselves and go for the com mon enemy, and understand ourselves. Yours fraternally, J. O. Moboney...
