TRARALGON. [Newspaper Article] — Warragul Guardian and Buln Buln and Narracan Shire Advocate — 29 April 1880

TRARALGON. (FROM OUR OWN COPrnsrPONDENT.) The most enthusiastic meeting we have yet had in this township to consider public matters was that held in the Court House on Tuesday evening, to protest against the annexation of that portion of the Albertou Shire referred to in the " Government Ga zette" of the 9th inst. Notwithstanding the almost impassable state of the roads, consequent upon the past week's sain, over 100 ratepayers put in an appearance at the meeting. John Sykes, Esq., J.P., presided in his usual able manner, and after reading the notice of the proposed annexation from the "Gazette," called on the gentlemen named, in the order following, to propose resolutions, all of which were nnanimously carried, and amidst great applause: Messrs. Itattingley and Boyd,--"That this meeting entirely disapproves of, and protests against the annexation of that por tion of the Alberton Shire referred to in the G' Govermnent Gazette" of the 9th inst. to the Shire of Traralgon." Messrs. N. ...
