Cannot under-"Stan yer''" when you say girls never make good players. "May" I say "Annie"''-more ? Tennis, how ever, has little attraction for some folk. One couple wandered away and seemed to become interested in the hall piano. 1 I Have you heard the joke about that "ticket?" It has been whispered from Galah right out to " Carter's" tank. Most "Ag" onising affair. recently. A little 'lap dog" lost for a night and a day. Followed watch for " Henneuerg ''-Lars (an bur...

The apathy generally displayed by a large majority of the towns people of Ouyen was again in evi- dence on Monday evening. A meeting was called by the Shire President (Cr. H. W. Pickering) to place before ratepayers a scheme for a water supply for the town and less than a score attended. If this is the way an important sub- ject like this is treated, is it any wonder that the few who are willing to work for an effort to throw up the sponge and let things take their course ?
