Mr George Vincent, senr, of " Como," Wangaratta, had a somewhat startling experience tiie other day. Taking soma cut-up tobacco from the pocket of a waistcoat that was hanging oil the wall, he tilled his pipe, and then lighting it proceeded to enjoy a smoke. A few minutes later the pipe was shattered, but Mr Vincent still held the stem in his mouth. He proceeded to investigatu the cause, and discovered tho case of a pea rifle bullet amongst the fragments of pipo 011 the floor. A further search disclosed the bullet lying on the floor near the wall of the room, and there was also a dent in the wall where it had struck. The hull hail under gone a complete transformation, and was beautifully decorated with (lags, bunting and evergreens.
