A pnblic&n's lioenoe d unction Hotel, Wittotmand Aramarf roads, was granted to Joeeph Walters. An application for the transfer of the licence of the Uva and Let Lire Hotel from Wm. Hetzgar to Wm. Samuels was refused. The application of James Craig for a pub lican's licence for the Shamrock Hotel was refused. William Frost applied for a transfer of the lieenoe of the Brahman's Arms Hotel from himself to John Desmond. Granted on con dition that the premises be placed in thorough repair. At Gourack, ill Scotland, on the 19th ult., a young man who was about to start oil a vnynpc to Java proposed to his sweetheart, was married before the Sheriff within three hours aftcrwimis, and before another half hour expired had started on hit; voyage. Government House at Simla, lias been laid with gas made from mineral oil. The system has also been tried at the Lahore railway aU'.inn with every success. l'he death it announced at Bow, Dunbar tonshire, of the mother of the late Rev. Nor man Macleod, at the venerable age of ninety fiur. There are at present only 108 American vessels engaged in whale fishery, as against 638 in 18M. SYDNEY. FBIDAY, November 21. On Monday last seven bushrangers s^uck up Wantabudgery Station, near Wagga Wagga. They successfully resisted four con stables who were sent in pursuit A linger number of troopers were then despatched after the bushrangers, and a desperate fight ensued. Two of the bushrangers were shot dead, one was wounded, two kpRendered, and one escaped. The latter was captured next day by Constable Bowen, who was dangerously wounded in the nock. Further particulars with reference to the bushrangers state that three of them ate between the ages of 19 and 30. The leader declares himself to be the notorious Captain Moonlight, who was released from Pcntridge not long ago. One o£ those who was killed is a man named Lyons allot Nesbitt. NEW ZEALAND. WELLINGTON, November 18. I A terrible tragedy has occurred. Clarence Miller, the eon of Mr. Edward Miller, late bonk manager in Wellington, murdered his father and mother by catting their throats while asleep, lie then committed suicide by drawing arazor across his throat. The young man was the victim of hereditaty insanity. The Budget delivered on Tuesday proposes to levy a tax upon property, and to impose additional customs dues upon spirits and tobacco, and also an export duty on timber and grain. THE following telegrams appeared in our eccond edition of Tuesday last: LONDON, November 18. COMMERCIAL.-Queensland four per cents, 91. Tin, £89 per ton. Beef tallow, 41s. Gd.; mutton, 43s. Gd. Mitchell and Warrego Hospital. THE usual monthly meeting of the Committee of the above institution was held at the J Reading Boom, Tambo, on Wednesday, the 12th November; Mr. Hyde, P.M., in the chair. I'resent-Messrs. Hyde, Balston, Harries, UoweU, Dr. Browne, and the Secretary, The minatcs of last meeting were read and confirmed. Dr. Browne's monthly report was then read, and showed-Indoor patients, 1st. Oct., 13 ; Since admitted, 14; Since discharged, 0; DeatliB (phthisis), 1; Indoor patients on 1st November, 17. Operations-liemoval of diseased bono; Removal of fatty tumor. Tho following communications were then read, vis,Charlevillc ponndkeeper, enclos ing £1 16s.; H. E. Davidson, Alice Downs, enclosing £8 12s.; F. Taylor & Co., enclos ing way-bill; Elliott Bros. Moved by Mr. Balston and seconded liy Mr. Dowell, " That the monthly accounts be paid if found correct."
