Casino Common. The regular meeting of the trustees was held on .Saturday evening last. Pre sent — Messrs. J. T. Junor (in tho chair), It. A. Carltou, T. Keddaclitr, J. Mulvena, and D. Kissatie. Minutes of previous meeting, were confirmed. Letter from the Departmeut of Liuds intimated the application by the trustees for the acl-.b tion of certain land to the Common area had buen referred to the District Surveyor for report. Six applications for enrol ment as commoners were granted. The Chairman reported that II. Drinkwater had been summoned for overdue agist ment feus, but the case had been with drawn, defendant agreeing to pay by instalments of £1. Old Residents. The late Mr.- A. Barrow, who died in the Casino Hospital recently, formerly re sided in Lismore. He leaves a widow and family of nine. 'Mesilamas T. J Brandon and F. lifihcrts and Miss Bar ro«\ of Coraki, are sisters. ? The Coraki 'Herald' reports— A- very old and respected resident of this district. Air. Jo.-jeph lvins, died at Coraki on Tuesday evening. For some mouths past he h.ul been in bad health, and his end was expected at- any lime. For many years the late Mr lvins had Ihv.d iu the Casino district, but when the infirmities of old iige came, with his late wife he came to reside with his daughter (Mrs. J. M'Doiiakl) at Coraki. and lived there up to the end. Ho had attained the ripe old ago of St, ami is survived by four daughters — Mesdames Brooks, Johnston. We have had our Race Carnival. I noticed many Casino people!, and in this ono matter at .any rate there seems to be community of interest ; but what sort of a day ! 2000 people sweltrring, with a thermometer register of 110, rushing, pushing, and crowding euery point of vantage lo see a few horso races.
