Natliaiia Progress Association. A meeting of the above was held in the Public Hall on Friday even ing last. The president, Mr. W. P. Scoot, being in the chiir. A letter was read from the Crown Law Department stating that the re quest for a new court house at Na thalia would receive attention. The Railway Department also intimated that the traffic woul i not warrant an additional train for Friday night in each week. It was resolved that the Hon. Frank Clarke, M.LC., be asked to urge both matters forward. The tenders for suction gas engine for Nathnlia electric lighting scheme were then discussed. Cr. Tuckett gave his reasons for voting for the Hornsby, stating that this engine was working splendidly in Nuinurkah for the last two years, and also that the Tangye engine at Shuthmerton gave a lot of trouble. The agent of course said lie would cive six mouths trial, but agents would say anything. He thought they'should not experiment with an-' 1 other when the Hornsby -was doing so well. ...

The first toast honored was "the I King," after which Cr W. A, Camp bell, proposed the toast of the "newly-elected President." It was gratifying t*> see such a large gathering present, which showed •that the .socrety had been kept an Agricultural Society. He was pleased to see by the balance-sheet that day, that the ^1,500 overdraft had been wiped out. ANNUAL MEETING. The president said that his term ot office was finished, and lie had much pleasure in thanking the officers and members for the very pleasant and prosperous year they had together. On the motion of Messrs McDonell and Ball, Mr. Nugent was voted to the chair. Election of President. The nominations for president were as follows:—Messrs G. Tuckett, W. Leaf, R. F. Jones, H. Wilson and M. T. Fairman, but as all with drew with the exception of Mr Leaf, he was declared elected unopposed The new . president sincerly thanked the members gfor having elected him to the position.
