THE CITIZEN. Price per Year, $5 ; Six Months, $8 TUC S 0 1ST, ABIZONA tsntvLrclay, ITeb. 1, 1S73. L Crvr.rvrrEr, Nelson informs us that at tho time lie was at Date Creek on his way hither, the Indian chief Ofiho- cama and his hand of some two nun dred warriors, came in for peace and grub and raiment, as well as to save the remnant of themselves from death by the troops, which they now seem to realize would not take much longer, fight as well as they might, and in the best possible positions at that, lhey have recently lost some fifty warriors by the troops, which severe but neces sary loss was the only means of sav ing any of the tribe and protecting settlers. This again proves the cor rectness of the theory of the fron tiersman regarding the speedy and certain way to peace. Ochocama now gives every apparent evidence of a willingness to live at peace but never did betore. The latest mining news from Wal lapai is highly encouraging. The furnace erected there by Colonel H. F. Baker to...
