tix THE EVENING HERALD, ALTyTTQUEHQUX, H. IT.. THURSDAY, APIIIL 2, 1914. MAYOR SELLERS' REPLY TO A FEW PUBLIC QUESTIONS REGARDING THE WATER QUESTION MAYOR SELLERS' POSITION I am in favor of the municipal ownership of our city water supply. I believe it would be a greater factor in the growth and beautifying of our city than any other one big im provement. The water department of the city should be under the control of a non-partisan commis sion of able business men and a competent engineer. I am opposed to any exttnsion of the franchise of the present Water Company, unless terms satisfactory to the majority of the people of Albuquerque can be made. Furthermore, no extension or reissue of the franchise can be made without the same being approved by a majority of the qualified voters of the city. The question must first be submitted to a vote of the people and if favorable a sufficient bond issue would th-.n have to be authorized ly a similar vote of the people for the installing of t...
