Deaths of Prominent Men. Tbe HoDBenj; F. Sutler died in Paris on the 8th of Nov., in his 63d jear. Mr. Bntkr -ba long been known w an able lawyer and a distinguished politician. He was Attorney General of the United States under Gen. Jackson and a warm supporter of the Gen. and of Mr. Van T3ann. It was from one of Mr. Butler's familiar let ters from Sandy Hill, N. Y., that the po litical joke about stated preaching of the gospel was taken. Of late years Mr. But ler had withdrawn himself from the Dem ocratic party and acted with their oppo nents upon the great question between slave and free labor, voting nt the late Presidential el ction for M. Fremont. Isaac Newton, the famous North River steamboat owner died in New York on the night of the 22d at the age of G5 years. Ir. C. V. JU1 Shawls that come to this country, from In dia are called "Cashmere" or "Camels Hair." but really there are scarcely any true Cashmere, shawls in America and none anywhero of Camels wHair. The Cashmere shawl is made of the inner wool of the Thibit'goat, "which is -brought from' Ladak iif Thibit, and woven into a fabric called pushmoena, which forms the basis and center of the Cashmere shawl. The embroidery of the shawls is' sometimes woven, sometimes worked -with the needle; in either case -the Work is done by men and requires an incredible amount of time.
