Many of the silver men are of the opinion that the plan of the anti-silver republicans is to get the house tariff bill through both houses, anti have it sent to the president, by whom they think it will ic vetoed. This would raise the tariff question, and have a tendency to make it the sole issue in the approaching campaign. The silver republicans suspect that this is the wish of their anti silver colleagues, and some of the former class are determined, if possible, to prevent a consunimation of the scheme.
