EMPORIA, KANSAS : , SATURDAY, JANUARY 18, 1862.' INDIANS Olf THE WALNCT. From Captain P. G. D. Morion, who passed through this place on Monday night. we learn that about three hundred Indians had arrived in the neighborhood of Chelsea, having been driven from . their homes by . their Secession brethren. . They are mostly Creeks. They had several fights, and were defeated by the Secessionists. Capt. Mor ton informs us there are twelve thousand of these Indians on their way to Kansas. When they left their country they were in structed by their chief to meet on the Wal nut; but only three huudred had arrived when he left, and it is feared that those who are back have fallen into the hands of the enemy. Those who have arrived are in very destitute circumstances. What is to be done for them it is hard to tell, but they should not be permitted to suffer. We are told thai the Government owes them a large cum of money in the way of annuities. If la . lliav eVn1rt Ka noirt at nnno These Indi...
