On the 7th Instant. One of them (Bryant) has been taken, and the rest dispersed, with the loss of all their Plunder, and some of their Arms. The Escape of any of them was only owing to superior running! THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR begs       earnestly to call upon every Magistrate and Constable to aid the pursuing Parties at this critical Moment. MISCELLANY, ORIGINAL AND SELECT.   At the quarterly Court of Proprietors. held at the India House, on the 28th of September, Mr. Hume, speaking of the present Government of India, said "he should only say, from such Governments, good Lord deliver us." Without offering an opinion on Indian affairs, we cannot approve of such out-of place applications, of the language of the Liturgy. Colonel Stanhope in support of the Honourable   Gentlemans sentiments asked "Why not remove Lord Amherst? Why not appoint   Lord Hastings? Why not appoint Lord   Wm. Bentinck ? Why not appoint Lord   Cochrane? Why not appoint Mr. Hume? If he must be a Lord, let him be made a Lord. It was easy to make a Lord."
