SPORT AND PASTIME. A party of holiday makers spent a lively time down the river a few days ago. They were out for sehnapper, and anchoring in Clonuiel channel soon found that the fish were about. For some reason, explained later, bites were few and far between. A tin ap peared, and then it became known that a large shark was " roosting " be neath the boat, ready to pounce 011 any sehnapper hooked. A small shark had already been caught, which supplied about libs, of solid junk with which to tempt his more bulky mate. A li-ih box was attached to the line for a lloat. In a few minuees the monster took the hook, and then followed some excitement. A few charges of shot helped to settle the brute, which measured about 10ft. In ail about half-a-doz-Mi sehnapper were caught. The weather was per fect, and the trip just glorious. The handicap foot raco in the lSlack wnrrv sports programme has been al tered.
