At a meeting of conditional purchasers at Coonabarabran on Saturday night, a resolu tion was passed, urging the Government to. reduce all rents, appraised when the products of the land were 40 per cent, higher that at present, by 10 to 15 per cent., without re appraisement. The Hospital Saturday collections were an unqualified success. The total of out-door collections was £319S. All classes gave cheerfully. RAILWAY ACCIDENT. A hob of bullocks that Btra.yed.on to the line near Wagga nearly caused a terrible smash to the Syduey express to Melbourne on Wednesday morning. Between three and four o'clock, when the train was running between Borneo and Waggajthe engine dashed into a mob of bulloclu lying on the per manent way. j:-ase;neeri oy tue warn re ceived an alarming experience. A great shock was telt through the train, and the impact caused one carriage to leave tbe rails. The mangled carca'ses of two or three of the animals getting between the wheels, caused the wheels of the carriages to bump and jump until thstrawpuUed up. Fo.' some time past Mr M. J. O'Mam, of Bathv^st, bos made this particular subject his study, and, after much careful experi menting, he has succeeded in manufacturing an ointment which has proved most success ful. Within tbe past few weeks he has oper ated on 62 sheep belonging to a well known squatter, Hr James Rutherford, of Hereford station, near Bathqrst ; and in each case tho result has beeu most encouraging, and tbe cure perfect.
