Behrend Cagers Hopeful Of Playing Pressure Game by Tom Harvey Sports Reporter Behrend basketball fans should be in for an exciting season this year, if the Cubs continue to be as impressive as they have been in pre-season action. Under the watchful eye of Coach Roger Sweeting the Behrend cagers scrimmaged Edinboro freshmen _andraccording to both coaches the contest was even. "I was quite pleased with the way we handled Edinboro's pressure defense," commented Sweeting , "although we did give up the ball on occasion, we got quite a few fast break baskets as a result of beating their press. They're not a particularly big team and the teams were relatively evenly matched sizewise. Overall it was a good, even scrimmage." Once again Glenn McKinney had a fine, performance in leading the hoopsters against the Scot frosh. Sweeting stated: "Overall Glenn McKinney did a good job of handling the ball against the press. He and Steve Johnson are working at the guards and they did a good j...

Trojan Rubber Co. Flag Football Kings Ladies and gentlemen :. . . introducing the 1971 Behrend Superbowl Champions: The Trojan Rubber Company, the only team to beat every team they played. From the beginning of the season they were underdogs. Coach Clarence Stoner didn't think they had the championship team in the beginning, yet laterhe ate his hat. They looked impressive from there highly organized huddles to the Dallas Cowboy Pro-set to the offensive formations. The team averaged over 25 points a game with the opponent having less than 15. On offense, at left end George Frola caught 3 TD passes with many short gainers. At starting at center Kent Ryan grabbed 2 TD tosses and several screen passes. The outstanding tackle was Denny Pattyn with 7 touchdown receptions, leading the running game was half-back Keith "Flash" Lustig averaging close to 100 yards a game towards the end of the season with Dan "Big D" Trisilo running strong up the middle. Rounding out the team was Al Lo...

Grapplers Ready For Big Effort by Dave Ruef Sports Editor The 1971-72 edition of the Behrend wrestling team is heading for the last big push before their season opener December 3 at Edinboro. Thus far, Coach Ed Onorato has been whipping his chargers into shape and working on individual wrestling techniques. But the hard working grapplers will be spending the next two weeks perfecting their moves, staying away from the cafeteria, and keeping the weight down. Coach Onorato received a bit of bad news this week, as two probable starters are out of action indefinitely. Larry Gladora will go under the knife soon because of a knee injury. He may be back later in the year and wrestle at 134 1b. Letterman Mark Hedges is off the squad for failing to get_a haircut. Hedges' absence will be felt severely, as the former Commonwealth Campus Champ is a determined, hardworking competitor. Mark is a naturalborn leader and it's a shame that hair has to be a factor in determining the status of ...

_Sfrincfherg Drama Staged On Campus August Strindberg's "Miss Julie" is a drama more ofter read than seen. This Friday, at 7:30 p.m. and again at 9:3C p.m., students and faculty will have the opportunity to see what has been classified as one of the great plays of the modern stage. A special production of "Miss Julie", featuring a cast and" director from the graduate School of the Pennsylvania State University Department of rheatre Artswill be presented in the Studio for all interested members of the campus community. The only charge will be twenty-five cents to defray the traveling expenses of the group. "Miss Julie" is essentially a simple story. A decadent, bored and unhappy young aristocratic woman seeks a new thrill in a liason with a smooth, vulgar but virile servant. A similar kind of love affair served as the basis for D.H., Lawrence's Lady Chaterrley's Lover, but Strindberg's treatment is harsher. The dialogue of the play is free and outspoken and has the fits and s...

Upcoming Final Examinations See the 'All-Niter' Ordeal by Doug Leichhter - Managing Editor Fall term is soon coming to a close and the Christmas season draws nigh. However, if any Behrend student is so foolish as to think that any of the elusive Christmas spirit is going to rub on Behrend professors when it comes time to pass out the grades-baby, you're only kidding yourself! The time has come when everyone should drag out those dusty books that you paid outrageous prices for at the beginning of the year in an effort to resurrect the term before your parents crucify you when that little packet of grades comes. As any Behrend student worth his salt knows, the only time to start studying for a final is the night before-about midnight, right after you get back from Kelly's. By now, you don't give much of a damn what happens, but for the sake of that $605 that you have invested in the affair, you will decide to give it that good old college try. There are certain prerequisites n...

200 Bpzos Bark Inside Hotels by Charles Eschweiler Staff Writer "QUICKIES!" _ Due to lack of having anything else written at _presstime and tbe fact that I'm having a hard tone consolidating . a . projected retrospective of Spirit albums into a reasonable amount of space to fie in the Collegian, this week's music column consists of little capsule reviews of current albums you might be considering to buy friends, relatives, etc. for Christmas presents. "BARK. . .JEFFERSON AIRPLANE" Oh boy! Another real revolutionary album from the Airplane that's just up yer alley brothers and sisters, but if you're looking for musical value, go elsewhere. If anyone would have told me the Airplane was going to be into this kind of shit back in '68 I couldn't have believed them. . .however, the paper bag the Bark album comes in is great fun and has all sorts of folksy things written on it. FROM "THE INSIDE".. .POCO There is finally a lot of interest in Poco (mainly due to their fine live album...
