Edward s Natural History Among the books found in the Artemus Martin collection , there is a Natural History of Birds and other Rare and Undescribed Animals , the work of George Edwards , Library-Keeper to the Royal College of Physicians , London . This is a seven-volume work , handsomely bound in calf , published in London , 1743-64 , and illustrated with 362 large and finely colored plates . The work is divided by the author into two parts , the first four volumes constituting the original work , which the author called , A Natural History- of Uncommon Birds and of Some Rare and Undescribed Animals , _Quadrupedea , Reptiles , Fishes , Insects , etc . He further adds that this is Exhibited in Two Hundred and Ten Copper-Plates , From Designs copied immediately from Nature , and curiously coloured after Life . THE HIGHLIGHTS OF I AMERICAN _^ HISTORY t Downtown School Bought In January , 1920 , Chancellor Hamilton learned that several old residences in the 1900 block F Street were for sale , and having seen the impracticability of graduate students taking work on the campus while working downtown , he obtained an option upon the buildings , and upon the consent of the trustees , they were bought for $ 75 , 000 . Schools of Diplomacy , Jurisprudence , and Citizenship were immediately established , and lecture work was started at the beginning of the second semester in February . Dr . Putney , Chief of the Near East Division of the Department of State , was appointed dean , and prominent lecturers from throughout the country were obtained to aid in the courses . A new committee composed of Carlisle Christie , Sara Martz , Leon Schloss , Harold McClay , and Roland Parrish , was elected to work over the suggestions made by a former committee and to draw up a constitution on this basis .
