BINTS FOB THE HOUSEHOLD. Apple Shortcake. Season apple-sauce with butter, sugar and nutmeg; make a nice shortcake; open, butter and spread with apple-sauce. Serve with sweeten ed cream. Muffin for Brealfasl. 1 pint milk, 1 egg, a piece of butter as large as a hen's egg, 1 teaspoonful salt, teacupful yeast, anu nour 10 ujaKe a sun uauer. KiseoTcr night and bake in rings. Granqc Lemon Pie. Take 2 teacup fuls of steamed Hubbard squash, 2 tea cups sugar, 1 teacup vinegar, llie yeiKS of 2 eggs and 1 tablespoon corn-starch; season with lemon extract; bake with one cnist. Heat the whites of eggs to a stiff froth, add 2 tablespoons of white sugar, spread over the pie and set in the oven to brown. Rye ami Indian Bread.
