r Making a Fish-Pond. F. I. N. writes "he has got goou fa tt ie for rookkig fish-ponds, with abundant- pring and swamp or waste land, and that many farmers in kis yicintty are in l'ke condition." There is no difficulty whatever in hi having fish-ponds, well stocked, In a few year, if he will make the ponds and ant in the fish. It It not expensive to make a pond, wherever there is a permanent brook flowing through a hollow or swamp. Of course, the slse of the pond will de pend somewhat upon the lay of the land and the quantity of water in the stream. Sometimes fifty dollars spent on a dam will flow fifty acres or more. Olten the ponds are already made for reservoirs or milling pur poses, and arj just as good for raising fish as if they were constructed ex pressly for that purpose. It a brook is already stocked with trout, they will multiply much faster with the aid of a pond. Xothing need be done but to stop fishing iu the brook, and let the trout multiply for three or four years. Th...
