In a previous isauo nowa mon tion was mudu of tho thriving condition of u considerable amount of tho sisttl plunt growing -at Pearl City. At the same place 34r. Marsden, Commissioner of Agrioulturo, and othors have largo fields of cuuuigro growing. Too sauaigro is not flourishing, al though there- aro hoalthy plants in places. Mr. Marsdon attributes its partial failure to unsoasonablo planting, and will put in now nlantiugs when tho proper season ncx.t comes round. The sisal is a fibre plant, while tho canaigro yields tannic acid.
