THE DAILY PRESS. IIKNliY RBEOfeCO,, BPITOBS AMD FUnilTOU, SATURDAY.. JULY 88 Brownson on Squatter Sovereignty. By request we print on the Hint page an article from the July number of Brownton'$ Quarterly Review, a Catholic journal, on tquatter noverolgnty. There seems to be the tame diversity among Catholic as other lournals In reeard to Mr. Dowlas. The New York Frteman't Journal is to ardently for Douglas that It declares that New York U sure to go for him. In politics no ono is re garded as friendly to a candidate unless he oonBtnntly affirms that be will carry any State that may be named, aud is sure to be elected. The Cincinnati Enquirer is au af fecting instance of this fidelity toward Doug las. The Frtmm't Journal, since it has taken to politics, has come fully into the political habit. The article of Mr. Brownson is a good ar gument against what is called popular sorer fiignty, that is the right of the majority to enslave the minority for that, we take It, Is tbe principle ot...
