Up- The San" Antonio Ledger of the 22d inst. gives tho following particulars of tlio recent fight between Capt. Wallace of the rangers with twonty-four men and somo eighty-five or ninety Indians. The Captain after following the trail for three days came up with the en- emy near the Nueces. He was immediately challenged to the combat and repelled three different charges upon him. In the last onset the Indian chief was hilled to their great grief. Ten of the rangers charg- ed the enemy's reserve killing one wounding two and routing the whole party. Three of the rangers were wounded slightly. The loss of the Indians was seven killed nine wounded and seven horses killed. Qp- Mr. Daniel Williams a very respectable and much esteemed planter residing on Oyster Creek in the lower part of Fort Bend coun- ty was stabbed in the back and abdomen on the 10th instant by a you...

The telegraphic report of tho passage of the Texas boundary bill through tho House received hero on Monday was entirely fulse and was probably designed to have effect upon the action of our Legislature and wo regret to say that Such was its unhappy effect. Instead of the passage of the bill through the House it had not!( at the last accounts even been taken up for consideration; and from tho speculations upon tho chances of its final success which we find in the letters of Washington correspondents we are inclined to believe its failure by no means improbable.
