Mining Notes. Mr TV W. Lyons inform.3 us that the new shares in the Hayes-' Consols G.M'. Co. have been allotted. The proprietors of the Prince Oscar lease,: at White Feather, state that they have struck good payable gold at the 73ft. level on the underlay shaft. The latest crushing from the ivanlioe, gave a return of 119ozs 14dwtsof smelted gold from 99 tons of stone. The Company is still drawing an ample supply of water from the 200ft level of the main shaft. Very pretty looking ore. showing gold freely, has been struck in the Starlight mine, one of the blocks conm prised in the 1(50 acre group of leases, recently acquired by the Venture Syndicate, and floated in London. The property is under the management of Captain Osborne, of Adelaide,, who has quickly opened up a very promising mine. The Croesus mine is being opened up at the 120ft level by means of a eosteen cross cut from Blevin's shaft. For some time .past this has been sunk in the hanging wall of the green lode, which had...

Arrival of Mr Davitt.   [BY TELEGRAPH]   Coolgardie, Monday. Mr Michael Davitt M.P., arrived in Coolgardie at 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, in company with Mr Alex. Forrest, M.L.A., Mr Moran M.L.A. and others. The distinguished visitor was received by the Mayor and a com-   mittee of admirers at Somers' Hotel, where Mr Davitt's health was toasted in champagne. Amongst those present were Mr Finnerty, Warden, Mr Mar- mion and Mr Moran M.'sL.A.   The Mayor welcomed Mr Davitt on behalf of the goldfields population,   explaining that the visit had no politi- cal significance. Mining Notes* A trial crashing of rather under 50 ton.? has been put through the London Jerry Company's battery, and it ia ex pected the return will be published next Thursday. ? ? : . The latest crushing from the New Chum, Murchison, gave a return f-f 1023ozs from 2iX- tons o:' stone. This news was received by Mr H. W. Taylor on Tuesday. Mr J. T. Rampling has shown U3 a sample of stone got at the 40ft level from the Stockholm mine, I.O.U. The stone is composed principally of quartz and ironstone, aiul carries very rich gold. The Mai I of Avon, situated aoout a mile and a half south of the Kingsley Hall mine at Smithfield-, has been se^und for Messrs J. Serman and Throssel, Stewart, and Co., of Northern.
