MINING. ? FILBARRA GOLDFIELD. MARBLE BAR. The St my Sliot hattery. after finish ing with tin- stone from that mint*, will commence the treatment of a parcel from the True Blue. The first load of a parcel which is being brought in from Part ington's pro teefion area is expected to arrive in Marble Bar to-day, and crushing will probably be commenced next Tuesday night. A crushing of 13 tons from the Augusta South was on Wednesday last cleaned up for a satisfactory return, though somen hat below the average usually obtained from this claim. The holders are, however, breaking down another lied of stone, and this it is anticipated will, when submitted to the stampers, pan out very well. On Wtduesday last several small specimens somewhat resembling quart zite, were, brought into Marble Bar from the Democrat h-ase, at North Pole. WARDEN'S "COURT. MARBLE BAR, MAY 27. (Before Mr. Axel Ostlund, Warden). An application was wade l»y Mr. William Cuumiingx, on liehatf of the Umle Tom Syndicate, for one and six months" exemption on h-ases Nos. 249 and 250, the labour to be'comsntrati-d on lease No. 386. The reason giver. for the application was that the ground could l>e worked more advantageously as one mine. There were shafts down on each lease, and it was proposed to con tinue sinking on No. 386. The shaft on lease 249 was down 75ft. and it was di-sired that the whole of the property, consisting of eighteen acres, should lie thoroughly tested. The applicant wished to find out which of the leases it would he best to work. Six months' exemption was recom mended.
