WEATHER [Newspaper Article] — Boorowa News — 9 March 1951

WEATHER Hot and sultry weather has prevailed over the past week. Between 40 and .50 points of rain fell in a few hours last Sunday and about 30 points on Tuesday afternoon. The rain between Reid's Flat and Frogmore was accompanied by violent winds which uprooted a number of trees and tore the roof off a shed on Mr. F. Gay's property,. This wind was not felt to any degree at Frogmore. Showers fell on Tuesday night and Wednesday remained damp and comparatively cool. The change is welcome.

MOVE TO ALTER ZONING PROPOSALS Gundagai And Trnnut Appeal To Group 9 CLUBS WILL APPRECIATE DIFFICULTIES CONFRONT ING BORDER TOWNS In an effort to avert a crisis in the football »et up for 1951, the Gundagai and Tumut clubs are to make a determined bid to GrouD 9 in an effort to alter the zones for this year's compe tition. Notice of motion to this effect will be submitted to the Group. If the Group will not heed the pleas of the two clubs then , it is certain that Tumut and Gundagai will withdraw from the competition. The committees controlling both clubs feel confident that matters will iron out satisfac torily, as they hope that clubs wiil appreciate the difficulties confronting clubs situated on the border of the group. It was pointed out at the meeting of the Gundagai com mittee this week that, whilst the financing of trips would be a great burden, the biggest dif ficulty would be to get the play ers to travel these long distanc es.
