KEW NOTES. [Newspaper Article] — Hawthorn, Kew, Camberwell Citizen — 19 June 1914

KEW NOTES. On the corner of Brougham, and High streets labourers are busily em ployed in laying the foundations for a row of five new shops. The exe crable survey of the town is plainly, discernible in the acute angles ren dered necessary by the manner in. which the bralnch streets are made. All houses' have one very sharp cor ner, and the effect is not only un sightly, but militates largely against the best possible use being made of the shop frontages. The new shops,j judlging by the foundations,. will be' very small and cramped;, thelacl~ yard appareritly having beeinmnade?foi" combined use.* Thie~:iedii:esta~bili-lh ments, however, shofiuld prove a -bo to residents, and aource orevenue. to occupiers, :as .tie;posstsoni is in ideal onie fori busi~ness.':}.=- "!I Situatd on muni l propet local ini-iature ifle, riange' n Brougham-street . -er cneniven On Mondai .ist'h rinnge £-Xi'is cleane up, preparat to nten usual winter seas .
