LOCAL AND GENERAL. [Newspaper Article] — Raymond Terrace Examiner and Lower Hunter and Port Stephens Advertiser — 20 September 1912

LOCAL AND GENERAL. Dentist T. G. King, Specialist in Painless Dentistry, High-street, West Mnitland, will visit Raymond Terrace every Thursday, and may be cousulted at rooms right opposite the Examiner j Office. 1-Iours, 9.30 a.tn. till 4 p.m. 1 The Legislative Council did good ser vice to the country when it threw out the Railway Duplication Board Bill. This measure was manifestly intended to j be nothing more than the thin edge of the wedge with which the Government hoped to split up the Act of Parliament removing the management of the railways from political control. The argument of Mr. Flowers in favour of the establish ment of a political duplication board was the nimsiest that could be itnagiued. If the chief Railway Commissioner cannot find. sufficient- men aud material for the workv it is very unlikely that two politi cians could help him on his search. Tlie Government might have claimed that the Board was required to decide upon what duplication was necessary. But that is a...
