Last week Jack Frost visited many parts of Northurn Texas and met with a ' cordial receptiou. A lady in Freestone county in re ported to have been frightened to death by two dog fighting over her twin babies, A flro occurred on a plantation near Waco on Thursday of hint week, destroy ing a cotton gin, machinery and fifteen bales of cotton. Loss, 2,0OU. Some of the farmers of Young coun ty have raised the itccond crop of corn this season from the same land, Home of which will make thirty bushels per ncru. W. P. Sides, living on Creaui Level, Van Zandt county, ban three acres ol ribbon cane matured eight feet. Thia crop will be worth more than twenty acres of cotton.
