/ WESTERN SEARCHLIGHT CATTLEMEN MISINFORMED And Seek Shipping Points Other Than Hereford. Those in position to know state to us that cattle coming from the south, the logical shipping point of which is Hereford, are being side-tracked and driven at an extra cost of money and trouble to either Bovina or Can- yon to be shipped. If this is a fact it behooves the citizens of Hereford to investigate the reason for these things and advise the cattlemen of their error if they have been misin- formed or beguiled. We understand that the trail is open south of Hereford for an hun- dred miles, with only twelve miles of lane and plenty of water and grass, the latter at a cheaper rate on the route and around Hereford than the stockmen have been having to pay at other places, tho that it is alleged that such is not the case by some one, nobody knows who, is evi- dent, as the falling off in cattle re- ceived at this place for shipment is perceptible and the matter should be investigated and rectif...
