8 WINTER OATS We wish to announce to the farmers of this and surrounding counties our recent purchase of a heavy supply of choice Panhandle raised Winter Turf Seed Oats which were grown and har- vested by W. A. Massey near Groom. These oats are bright heavy large seed clean smooth and free from all foreign substances and will average 38 pounds to the bushel. They are intended for fall planting but will pro- duce readily on spring sowing. The fall planting will require about one and one-half bushels to the acre and will stand winter pasturing as readily as winter wheat. We have for sale 1000 bushels at 75c per bushel. Saturday morning the manage- ment of the Elmhirst Hotel ex- perienced quite a little strike in the walking out of four of the employ- ees of the dining hall and kitchen force. The trouble was brought about by the influence of one of the wait- tresses who becoming dissatisfied with restraints placed upon her jurisdiction in the kitchen and din- ing department induced three of her fellow employes to join her in refusing to comply with the re- quirements of the hotel. At 12 o'clock sharp the strike was declared on just at the hour when the guests were preparing for luncheon and at the most em- barrassing time for the manage- ment of the hotel. F.
