MELBOURNE WOOL MARKET. MKssita. Hastings Cunin'OHAm and Co. report:—Wool.—Wo have done no business iu this staple since our Inst report, with the exception of a few odd lota of greasy, which realised full prices. Quotations are unaltered, but nominal. Sheepskins. — We have placed an average supply of skius during the week at rates fully maintaining last quotations, and exceeding them in many cases when the lots submitted to auction were more than usually well grown. For these, keen com*' petition led to proportionately good results. We do not, however, anticipate a long con tinuance of the present high prices. Our quotations are—For butcher's skins, 4s 6d to Gs each, and dry skins, 5d to 8dperlb. Hides.—We report much activity in this market, last weeks rates prevailing. We have sold ox hidea from 28s to 35s; cow hides, 18s to 26s each ; salted hides, 4Jd to 5\d; calfskins, 6d to 7Jd per lb. Kangaroo Skins.—Large sizes are saleable at 13£d per lb. Ou Sunday, the foil was con* siderable, and again on Thursday night aomo good showers came down, Tho reports of our exchanges show that rain 'lias been pretty general. Around Dubbo, the Dispatch says, especially near tho river tho feed was going fast, principally it must bo said through tho number of travelling sheep who had visi ted us, but these rains will not. only canao a shoOt in the feed but fill tho tanks which, being dry, rendered tho back country usolcss.
